What to Wear to Running of the Bulls
The traditional running of the bulls uniform consists of a white shirt, white pants, a red pañuelo (bandana) tied around the neck, and a red faja (sash) worn around the waist. Comfortable running shoes are essential. This traditional San Fermín attire is worn by over one million people each year during the festival.
Two legends explain the iconic white and red Pamplona traditional costume:
One legend says the colors honor San Fermín himself—white representing his purity as a saint, and red representing his blood as a martyr.
The other legend traces back to the butchers who originally ran with the bulls, wearing white aprons stained red from their trade.
Whether you subscribe to one legend or both, wearing the traditional encierro uniform connects you to centuries of Pamplona culture and bull running tradition.

Commemorative T-Shirts with Official Bull Names
The shirt from the day YOU ran
What makes our San Fermín commemorative shirts unique? Each morning during San Fermín, six fighting bulls from a specific ganaderia (bull ranch) run through the streets of Pamplona. These are the same bulls that ran in Pamplona that morning and fight in the bullring that evening. Our Pamplona bull names t-shirts feature the actual names of the bulls from each specific date—so you can own a piece of the exact day you experienced the encierro.
Why Bull Names Matter
Experienced bull runners know that different ganaderias have different reputations. The Miura bulls are the most famous. Cebada Gago bulls have caused the most gorings in history. Jandilla bulls are known for being particularly dangerous. When you wear a shirt with these bull names, you're showing you understand the encierro tradition at a deeper level.
