July 6 to 14, 2026. Everything set for this year’s running of the bulls: the bulls, the changes, and the year’s big story. The chupinazo opens the fiesta at noon on Monday, July 6, and the eight encierros run every morning at 8:00 from Tuesday, July 7 through Tuesday, July 14, closing with Pobre de Mí at midnight. This page is the live preview now; after the fiesta it becomes the full 2026 record. The legendary Miura ranch, founded in 1849 and the oldest still run by its founding family, debuted in the Pamplona encierro in 1959 and has closed San Fermín on the final morning of July 14 every year since 2013. In 2026 that changes: Miura runs Monday, July 13, and Jandilla takes the closing run on the 14th. The Casa de Misericordia’s reasoning is to keep the fiesta strong through its final two days, putting a marquee ranch on the Monday and a powerful closer on the Tuesday. For runners who track the fiesta, it is a real change in a long-standing rhythm. 2026 marks one hundred years since Hemingway published The Sun Also Rises in 1926, the novel that carried Pamplona and the running of the bulls to the world. A number of the Hemingway family have come through Pamplona over the years. John Hemingway, the grandson, has been the most prominent, a good friend, and we co-authored a book together. His son Michael Hemingway came and spent time as a photographer during fiesta, and used to stay at my apartment near Hotel Catedral. The eight ranches contracted for the 2026 encierros, in order. Individual bulls are drawn at each morning’s sorteo. The official 2026 poster is “La Cuadrilla” by Pamplona artist Marta Garatea Almagro, a choral image that packs the whole fiesta into one scene. It won the public vote with record turnout of 10,712 valid votes, the most since the contest began, across ten finalists. I’ve heard a ton about the Paseo de Sarasate works, and from people in town it’s clear it won’t be finished for this fiesta, so it’s something we’ll work around. There was already some construction there during the 2025 fiesta. Hopefully it’s done by summer 2027. Two things from the encierro you can take home: the cobblestones from Calle Estafeta, and the official shirt of the run. Each morning’s shirt is printed with the names of the bulls that ran that day. Once the runs begin, this is where the live streams and daily photo galleries land. Learn the route from active bull runners before you step onto the cobbles.San Fermín 2026

‘La Cuadrilla’ by Marta Garatea Almagro — Winner of the 2026 cartel competition with 2,599 votes (24.26%) in a record year with over 10,700 participants. The design depicts a diverse group — including San Fermín himself and a bull — sharing chocolate with churros on a bench in the Taconera, surrounded by a frame capturing every iconic moment of the fiesta. Also for 2026: the vallado (route fence) went up starting June 1; the chupinazo will be fired by Navarra’s emergency-medicine service; the Zona Joven moves to Plaza de los Fueros; and the folklore programming shifts to Plaza de San José.
