Reading the calendarHow 2028 Falls on the Week
Our early read, based on the pattern we see every year.
The first weekend lands on July 8 and 9, right on top of the opening days. The 6th, 7th and 8th are the most crowded days of every fiesta, whatever the weekday, so in 2028 the weekend stacks onto the busiest stretch.
The 14th falls on a Friday, not a weekend. If you want a less crowded street, the middle runs, Monday July 10 to Thursday July 13, fall on weekdays.
More on why the weekday matters: the best time to visit San Fermín.
Still to comeWhat Is Not Set Yet
The dates are fixed. The detail is not. These are announced closer to the fiesta, and we add them here as they are confirmed.
- The eight ganaderías (bull ranches), usually announced in November of the year before.
- The Bando de San Fermín, the city's rules for the fiesta, including access times to the route.
- Who lights the chupinazo from the town hall balcony.
- Any works or changes around the route.
